THE THREE I's Harmonization Conference - Bioethics and Biosecurity: IACUCs, IBCs & IRBs Facing Tough Challenges and Finding New Opportunities

Tempe Mission Palms Hotel, Tempe, AZ
Pre-conference, Monday, April 30, 2012, 1- 5PM
Full two-day conference, May 1- 2, 2012

BIOETHICS and BIOSECURITY are wide-ranging subjects and many of our topics could be the subject of an entire conference on their own!  Two of the necessary components in ensuring that the life sciences continue to produce great benefits and reduce or eliminate risk of misuse for unfriendly purpose, are the development of strong ethical and standard frameworks to complement legal and regulatory measures and the continued evolution of commitment between the life science community and the security community.

In this Three I's Harmonization Conference environment, the notable slate of speakers will focus on (a) how the research community can address biosafety and bioethics and (b) how the research and security communities can work together in addressing biosafety, biosecurity and bioethics concerns. These topics are crucial in all environments where either animal or human subject research are being conducted, and additionally important in the world of select agents, recombinant DNA and synthetic biology.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND ...

Pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device firms, academic medical centers, and research colleges and universities will benefit from attending. Investigators, institutional officials, research managers, compliance officers, oversight committee staff, biosafety/biosecurity managers, vivarium directors, and facility security personnel can all benefit from the various program tracks and hand-on exercises that will characterize this year's Three I's Conference.
